Experience the simplicity of a chicken and broccoli stir-fry! This easy recipe combines tender chicken with vibrant broccoli and mushrooms for a flavorful meal in no time.
Ingredients
1 lb (455 g) chicken breast, cubed
Salt, to taste
Pepper, to taste
1 lb (455 g) broccoli florets
8 oz (225 g) sliced mushrooms
3 tablespoons oil (for frying)
For the Sauce:
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon ginger, minced
2 teaspoons sesame oil
⅓ cup (80 mL) reduced sodium soy sauce
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 cup (240 mL) chicken broth
¼ cup (30 g) flour
Preparation
Step 1) Sautéed Chicken
In a large pan over medium-high heat, add 1 tablespoon of oil. Once the oil is hot, add the cubed chicken, and season it with salt and pepper. Sauté the chicken until it's fully cooked through and nicely browned. Remove the cooked chicken from the pan and set it aside.
Step 2) Mushroom-Broccoli Stir-fry
Using the same pan, heat another tablespoon of oil. Add the sliced mushrooms to the pan. Once the mushrooms start to soften, introduce the broccoli florets. Stir-fry these until the broccoli reaches a tender texture. Remove the cooked mushrooms and broccoli from the pan and set them aside.
Step 3) Fragrant Garlic-Ginger sauce
Add an additional tablespoon of oil to the same pan. Sauté the minced garlic and ginger. After that, add in the remaining sauce ingredients sesame oil, reduced sodium soy sauce, brown sugar, chicken broth, and flour). Stir this mixture until it becomes smooth and well combined.
Step 4) Combing evrything
Return the cooked chicken, mushrooms, and broccoli back to the pan with the sauce. Stir everything together until all the ingredients are heated through and coated evenly with the sauce.
Step 5) Serve it
Once everything is heated and well-mixed, serve your delicious chicken broccoli stir-fry hot alongside some hot rice or noodles. Enjoy!
