About the Recipe

Cheeseballs are delightful snacks made with a flavorful cheese mixture, deep-fried to golden perfection, and perfect for sharing or as party appetizers.

Ingredients

  • 250 grams of Gouda cheese, grated.

  • 100 grams of cream cheese

  • 1 egg, beaten.

  • 50 grams all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1 teaspoon paprika powder

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Breadcrumbs for coating

  • Vegetable oil for frying

Preparation

Step 1) Prepare the Cheese Mixture

In a mixing bowl, combine the grated Gouda cheese, cream cheese, beaten egg, flour, baking powder, paprika powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well until a uniform mixture forms.

Step 2) Shape the Cheeseballs

Take small portions of the cheese mixture and roll them into balls about 2-3 centimeters in diameter.

Step 3) Coat the Cheeseballs

Roll each cheeseball in breadcrumbs, ensuring they are evenly coated.

Step 4) Fry the Cheeseballs

Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan or fryer to 180°C (350°F).

Carefully place the cheeseballs into the hot oil and fry until they turn golden brown and crispy, usually about 2-3 minutes. Remove them from the oil and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil. Let the cheeseballs cool slightly before serving.

Enjoy these delicious Antilliaanse Cheeseballs as a tasty snack or appetizer.
